Fishing Charters Lake Ontario
would like to welcome you aboard!
July 2009
King salmon action on Lake Ontario has been steady so far
this summer. The last few weeks good numbers of salmon have
been showing up. The king salmon have been big and healthy,
a good sign of things to come on Lake Ontario. We have plenty
of dates open for salmon charters on Lake Ontario.
Our rates are the most reasonable in the Salmon River area.
Our 2 day charter packages are a bargain! Give us a call and
get the dates you want.
June 2009
Salmon have been taken over deep water on Lake Ontario since
early May. Recently it has slowed down but a few here and
there are bring taken along with some steelheads. Brown trout
fishing has shut down along the shoreline but with a thermocline
slowly developing they will be more easily targeted very soon.
Walleye fishing has been the bright spot lately. Plenty of
BIG walleyes taken over the last few weeks along the shoreline
of Lake Ontario. Oneida Lake has been doing very well. Limits
of 18-20'' fish have been normal lately. Give us a ring. We
are offering discounted rates for June and July.
March 2009
Our 2009 Lake Ontario fishing charter season will be kicking
off really soon! The Big boat goes in the water by mid April.
Brown trout fishing along the Lake Ontario shoreline has already
started off and brown trout are being taken from Oswego to
Mexico already! If you want try it now we have the drift boats
ready to go. Last years early spring brown trout action was
great. With any luck 2009 will be the same. Night fishing
off the drift boats for trophy walleye and brown trout was
the best in years. We had a lot of 20 hook-up nights. Summer
salmon and brown trout trips are great for families who love
to fish.
We troll the deeper waters off the Salmon River using spoons
and dodger/fly combos taking a mixed bag of salmonoid, including
brown trout, salmon, lake trout and steelhead's. We offer
the most reasonable rates around. Give us a ring and get your
charters booked now!
Early August Report
For the first ten days of August eastern Lake Ontario charters
had a tough time finding king salmon. A lot of wind and thunderstorms
created tough conditions. The brown trout were a lot easier
to locate and a lot closer to home. With the chance of T-storms
and tough salmon fishing the decision was an easy one. The
brown trout were fairly cooperative for charters most days.
They are still hitting some bid trout the last few days. However
the salmon fishing has been picking up quite a bit since the
weekend. It's that magic time of year when the kings salmon
start to head east to the Salmon River and stage off the river.
The mature king salmon stage until mid to later September
when they will migrate up to their natal spawning grounds.
This is by far the best time of the season to target salmon
off the charter boats on the eastern end of Lake Ontario.
Lake Ontario Counties Derby starts this Friday August 15.
You need to enter before you fish! The top prize is $20,000
for the biggest king salmon. Clients of charters fishing Lake
Ontario have often been the winners. I'd say for $15 for a
one day pass it's a good idea to get in. Everyone on the boat
needs to be entered by 6am the day you will fish. If you book
two days you can pay $25 and that covers the entire 18 days
of the LOC derby. The BIG salmon and trout derby runs from
August 15 till Labor day September 1. Last season we had a
slammer salmon that would of easily won but the crew was not
entered:(. You can enter at any of the local tackle shops
or on line.

JULY 2008
Salmon trolling on Lake Ontario has been fair so far. We've
done dozen trips this month targeting king salmon and had
success on 10 of them. The other trips the brown trout were
happy to cooperate. The salmon have been in nice shape mostly
pushing 20 pounds. Salmon have been biting off the Salmon
River all the way North to Sandy pond and west to Oswego as
well. 180-220 feet of water has been the most consistent depths.
Trolling dodger/fly combos has been the ticket to catching
bigger king salmon. Salmon fishing will continue to improve
over the next few weeks. Brown trout have biting in 80-100
feet. Stinger spoons in natural colors has been a good bet
for BIG trout. We offer the best rates on the eastern end
of Lake Ontario. Give us a ring!
Thanks for checking us out!

The 2008 Lake Ontario charter season is well underway. Brown
trout and walleye have been cooperating nicely. Trolling along
the Lake Ontario shoreline has been producing good catches
of brown trout by day and walleye by night. By the end of
June we will be targeting BIG king salmon and steelhead off
shore. Salmon and steelhead are just starting be taken out
deeper mainly on spoons fished off the downriggers. For June
we're offering 2 day specials- Our rates are already the most
reasonable around- NO hidden surcharge on fuel either.

Springtime walleye and brown trout fishing along the shoreline
of Lake Ontario is fabulous. Lake Ontario walleyes grow to
trophy sizes with 10-12 pounders common. Brown trout fishing
on Lake Ontario will grow enormous as well- The NYS record
came from Oswego county weighing over 30 pounds! That was
only a few miles from our home port on the Salmon River. Brown
trout numbers have been up the past several season with 10-15
fish trips normal in April through June.
On summer fishing charters we target every sport fishing
species Lake Ontario has to offer. The biggest baddest of all
would be the mighty king salmon. Salmon grow big out on Lake
Ontario. Our state record was taken in the Salmon River itself
running over 47 pounds! King salmon average over 20 pounds
with an occasional 30 plus pounder coming to the net. July,
August and September are best months to target these monsters
of the great lakes. We often target brown trout, steelheads,
lake tout, walleye or bass in the summer. It's your choice,
whatever you prefer to catch we'll go after them.
Fall
is a great time to catch salmon and steelheads. They are stacking
up near shore getting ready to run the Salmon River to spawn.
Anglers often do combo trips- a day out on Lake Ontario and
another day fishing the Salmon River by drift boat. September
and October are prime months for this.
Our charter boat is the closest boat to Lake Ontario at the
Lighthouse Marina. The marina is located at the mouth of the

July 12, 2007
Salmon and brown trout fishing on Lake Ontario continues
to be excellent. We've been trolling 70-80' for brown trout
and 150-180' for king salmon. The trout have been hitting
just off the bottom, the salmon 80-90' down. Spoons have been
taking trout while salmon have liked the dodger/fly program
best. Most days we've started out targeting kings and finish
off w/ trout. Throw in the occassional steelie for a great
trip out on Lake Ontario. So far this summer has been one
of the best in recent years.
